Nielsen To Fully Acquire BuzzMetrics; Form New Unit With NetRatings

Building on Nielsen BuzzMetrics’ momentum over the past year (the company where I work), the Nielsen Company, our majority owner, just announced it will fully acquire our firm. In addition, we’ll be combining with NetRatings, a leader in Internet audience measurement, to form a new unit providing measurement and analysis of consumer behavior in this space. The combination of these consumer behavior and intelligence sources makes for some awesome opportunities to better understand how people search, surf and speak online. The CGM and digital analytics space is still in its infancy, so there’s a lot more interesting development ahead!
