With parenthood comes significant personal and career change — from work-life balance to at-work habits to your outlook on the very subject of your profession. And with my first son’s turn past the six-month mark, that’s what I share this week in my latest MediaPost column:
Most significant, Iâ€™ve become far more sensitive to marketer abuse and other peoplesâ€™ vulnerabilities. Consider the elderly and their loneliness, the poor and their unhealthy eating habits, the uneducated and their ignorance of finances, or the young and their naivety over whatâ€™s real. What is still acceptable and opportunistic marketing toward these groups now easily breaks into my predatory zone. I confess, the protective parent in me is unleashed.
