Luck is among my top criteria for evaluating job candidates.

People who feel they’re lucky tend to have the wind against their backs. Good things tend to happen to people with good vibes.

So much of success is luck, in my opinion.

So I ask people to rate their luck, and tell me why.

One young, ambitious candidate I interviewed recently proclaimed:

“On a scale of one to ten, my luck is a 7. Yet the harder I work, the luckier I get. And I work really, really hard.”

“Right answer,” I said to myself.
