A week ago, July 23, Laura and I (who share the same birthday on that very date) received the best birthday present ever: baby Celeste. However, I also received another gift which I wasn’t at liberty to discuss until now: our early-stage startup, Clickable, closed on its Series B round of funding. In fact, my CEO, David Kidder, called me a few hours before Celeste’s birth to let me know of the deal closure. Again, the funding news pales in comparison to Celeste, but it validates the blood and sweat that my colleagues put into Clickable day and night. (See our CEO’s blog post on the news — inspiring for any entrepreneur.) It means we’ll be able to execute further and faster on the vision of “search advertising made instant, simple and profitable.” Oh…and a little more financial padding in our company’s early stage is not a bad thing, either — Laura and I now have two little mouths to feed.
