I was on Captiva Island, Florida last week for a search marketing conference. After the event, I had a couple hours before heading to the airport, so I decided to walk along the beach around the northern tip of the Island. No exaggeration, a dolphin spotted me and swam along for almost two miles — keeping adjacent to me, roughly 30 to 50 feet off the beach. Don’t believe me, here are some pictures (via my Blackberry). An omen?

Not a surprise to me, dolphins are a friendly sort!
My husband surfs out here in the OC and he sees them all the time, they love to hang out and surf the waves with the surfers. One time, he saw a ring of dolphins some 50-75 feet away from him, and they were around a female giving birth to a baby dolphin! How cool is that?
That's awesome! I wanted to bring this dolphin home.
