Laura and I went to see Leonard Cohen last night at Radio City Music Hall. It was one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. Impressively, at age 74, Cohen carried on for over three hours, both entertaining and humble, with several rounds of standing ovations.
Don’t mean to get freaky, but his writing and music helped me through my teens and twenties. I’m glad I saw this performance — perhaps among his last, given his age. He’s one of the most influential and covered artists of all time — not as mainstream as, say, Bob Dylan, but with a far more passionate following.
