Top-Ten PR Blunders List

November 27th, 2007  |   |  Email This Entry

Since a number of PR professionals — and a few complete nonprofessionals — read this blog, I thought I’d point out Kevin Dugan’s excellent “top-ten things you should never say to the media” roundup. My recent account of avoiding “smoke up my rear” by a neophyte PR guy actually made it in there as the top “slick shout-out and honorable mention.”

Of course, the flip side is the underreported blundering by some jaded bloggers and members of the media when dealing with PR people. This latter list is just as worthy, though I’m not sure one exists. The world tends to be a two-way street, and I know that from simultaneously having one foot in marketing, another foot in blogging, and another foot in writing a business column. (Yes, I’m an alien, and have three legs, ok?)
