Facebook’s Killer App: Birthday Reminders

July 23, 2007 · View Comments

Today is my birthday, and more people are remembering the occasion this year than ever before in my adult life. Why? Facebook is notifying everyone in my network. It’s interesting that some people are congratulating me via the Facebook network (i.e., throwing food, poking, sending private messages, etc.), while some are using external communications channels (like email, telephone and Skype). Either way, one thing is certain: birthday reminders are the ultimate Facebook application.
