Analog Irony In San Francisco

July 19, 2007 · View Comments

Prior to presenting at the Attention Data San Francisco Meetup on Wednesday, I dropped into the corner Starbucks for an iced tea. Although I was in one of the most high-tech towns, going to a high-tech industry gathering, I found myself in between two people with very low-tech remnants. To my left was a man reading several newspapers and to my right was another listening to analog cassette tapes on an old Walkman. I’m not sure why, but I was very conscious of this as it was happening. It just felt so ironic. So much that I captured a few quick shots with my Treo, and now I’ve blogged it.
