I Want A Pair of Heelys!

June 24th, 2007  |   |  Email This Entry

Have you ever been in a shopping center or public building with a smooth floor? If yes, then you’ve certainly been circled at one point by a kid or two sporting Heelys, those sneakers with the wheels in the heels. These kids angle their heels, then start gliding. It’s pretty cool! Click play on the video above and you’ll see what I mean.

I was in Costco this morning and the place was clogged with weekend warriors (distracted and numb thanks to the free food samples) and their shopping carts. Despite the barriers, the Heely-bearing kids were everywhere, swerving through every nook and cranny with ease. I bet that a kid with a pair of Heelys is a kid more willing to go shopping with mom or dad — assuming there’s a smooth floor and a challenging obstacle course at the destined retail establishment. I’ve got to get myself a pair!
