Rest In Piece, Mr. Teleivision-Remote-Control Inventor

I often say – and passionately believe – that any television without TiVo is a broken television (and if not broken, then downright unbearable!). While I witnessed history before and after the DVR, I was born into a television world where remote controls were already ubiquitous. And that probably is why I’ve always taken them for granted. But with the passing of Robert Adler, co-inventor of the remote, we should all pay tribute to this great inventor, invention and metaphor for consumer empowerment, individual choice and control over our own attention.
