2000 Bloggers: The Biggest Viral Blog Meme Since ‘Five Things You Didn’t Know About Me’

January 30, 2007 · View Comments

Tino Buntic’s neat 2000 Bloggers project has enticed a ton of bloggers – spanning A-list, B-list, C-list and whatever you call me – to leave a comment and become among the first two-thousand bloggers to comprise a big headshot-link mosaic. As evidenced even by my participation, this project underscores the ego and social drive inherent in blogger psyche:

  1. be first (or among the first)
  2. be part of the scene
  3. be able to discuss it as widely as possible

It’s similar to the “five things you didn’t know about me” meme, but is missing the tag-other-friends component. If it included that, this mosaic could’ve grown much faster and larger. Click here for a BlogPulse live graph showing blog citations of the Tino Buntic’s blog post and mosaic.
